Mothers day is approaching (22nd March), so I thought I’d give you a bit of inspo if you wanted to treat your mother (after all they’ve had to put up with US their whole lives).
The Mum who loves flowers -
Head over to the East End and check out Colombia Road Flower Market (open 8am-3ish) - Admire all the pretty colours & treat your Mum (and yourself) to a bunch of pretty flowers. If you’re feeling hungry after you could walk to BlackLock restaurant (15 min walk) for a lovely roast dinner. Roasts are delicious and are priced at £18 and you can get cocktails for £5.
The Mum that loves a show -
Tickets for Pretty Woman are now on sale (how exciting) - it looks as though it’s fully booked for Mothering Sunday however I can see tickets left for Saturday (21st) from £54.
I have been to see Lion King in the theatre too and it was a fantastic show - I felt like I’d gone back in time to my childhood - tickets are currently still available for Mothers day starting at £42.
You could get food beforehand in Kingly Court (there are lots of restaurants to choose from) - I recommend the shakshuka from The Good Egg.

The Mum that loves food -
London has countless places of amazing food spots - me and my mum have enjoyed the following;
Borough Market - (have a walk around and find something delicious & of course taste all the free samples!) Roast Restaurant is in Borough Market & do a lovely afternoon tea (I bet the roast is amazing too).
The Chelsea Ivy Garden - Never fails to please - I recommend the garden breakfast or the fishcake for lunch with truffle chips & creamed spinach (& finish with the chocolate bomb OBVS). Have a look around the shops on Kings Rd & visit the Saatchi Gallery after.
Mews of Mayfair - Amazing brunch, lunch & a NEW retro afternoon tea (which I’m going to try soon!) -
Mums get a free ELEMIS goodie bag on Mothers day!
White Mulberries - Amazing brunch dishes with lots of flavour - make sure you order the banana bread too - it’s to die for. Visit the Tate Modern afterwards! La Petite Ferme - A lovely, rustic French bistro in angel serving delicious, authentic dishes (on Monday’s they have live music so perhaps delay Mother’s Day till the day after!)
Mews of Mayfair
For the sophisticated Mum
Go and explore the Victoria & Albert museums collection of Art and Design - Mothers day is the final day to visit Tim Walkers - Wonderful things exhibition - you can book tickets online.
I hope you this gives you a few ideas of what you could do with your Mum or even someone else who is just super special to you. Let me know if you do visit any of these places I’d love to hear about your day.
